"We do not inherit the land, we hold it in trust for future generations. "
I'd love to know if any family members influenced your passion for nature, Ishan. I think it is natural when you are so tightly coupled with the soil and the rain.
Thank you Karina for reminding me of the enormous value of generational relationships. My parents are here visiting from the US and they are able to see their grandchildren and their great grandchildren! It is a thing of beauty and reinforces the truth of the connectedness of us all.
As I read what you wrote, I also realized that I have the stories from my great-grandmother OF her parents and grandparents. So I am already the span of seven generations!
It is so true ... as long as there is someone around to speak your name, you have not left this universe.
Enjoy London with your parents, your children and grand-children!
This spoke perfectly to my heart's desire Karena regarding inspiration to honor my family lineage. I'm very grateful you responded to my request. I too spent a short time with a great-grandmother, and had not thought of the span that will be represented as I get to be with my own grandkids one day. Thank you.
Thank you for planting the thought, Rick. In the podcast conversation on this edition, and while hosting dinner guests last night, I realized that I might have grown up money poor. But I am connection rich. In fact, I am community, genealogy and family abundant!
Because it is the water in which I swim I hadn't realized how precious it is as a gift. And one that I hope my children and I can choose to preserve. It does take work. But the work is worth it.
Powerful issue Karena. I look at the folks who came before me with a whole new sense of wonder. You've raised some interesting thoughts here :)

Connectedness. What a beautiful word, Dana.
