I learned about soil health when I was obsessed with Biodynamics more than a decade ago. It was sad to hear that all those chemical fertilisers that the government pushed to farmers in Indonesia in the 80s has actually killed the soil. Now, the only fertiliser I use in my container garden is from my beloved worm farm :) We should lobby for the name change in Sam's newsletter!
I am learning a whole lot more about soil dynamics since reading Sam's essays, Laila. Or maybe I am now paying better attention to information that has been around me anyway. The coffee nitrogen essay was an eye-opening read.
I was inspired by Sam's observation that soil is a leverage point - and that is where he has chosen to make his difference. I thought might resonate with you too, Margaret.
