That 4 x 100m final was amazing. Great to see Canada win, and GB take the bronze. The atmosphere in the stadium was electrifying!
Joy can be created in the smallest of moments and gestures.
One that I think the mobile phone generation misses out on is calling someone rather than texting. Hearing someone’s voice, and having a synchronous exchange of ideas, allowing emotions to arise in the moment rather than in a delayed fashion, is precious.
"How: Can we create more moments for fellowship and shared joy and laughter? " So important an element in building friendship and community. I don't focus on it enough at all! My granddaughter's friends do it well!
It is wonderful to hear that your granddaughter and her friends have the strength of community. And I know - from experience - how much laughter and joy you bring into my life, Joann! I am sure you and her parents modeled it well for her.
You are funny! I hadn't meant myself, but thank you for the compliment.
And if that is what modeling behaviour means, then I am proud to be seen in that role, James. You display it regularly too. Your piece on the ceramic hearts is just one example. Thank you for being such a great Dad to your daughters.

The "oh la la" is what got me in that commentating! The joy!
I do like your idea of voice over text. I'll admit I default to text, so some relearning on my part!

Karen’s - so much inspiration in here. Once my daughters are old enough for Substack accounts I’m going to get them signed up.
This is you: “Role models who exhibit the cultural behaviors that the group should ideally replicate or at least aspire to.” ❤️
