I am honored to be called out in this beautiful essay, Karena. Thank you for your love and support, and thank you for once again bathing my soul in your lush prose. Your talent is spectacular!
This whole region was blessed and bathed in colour, Ishan! It was elusive, however. You had to get the timing and the angle right. And the camera picks up on colour that is masked by all the ambient light. For us to see it, it had to be really strong. I took a video to prove to my children I hadn't tweaked any camera settings. As we replayed them I see shades of green and red around the moon which were not at all evident to me that night!
But Wow, what a blessing! My heart soared just as those lights did, and it is still doing a happy dance!
“After years and years and years of hunting these elusive beauties across Alberta, Northern Ontario and Iceland, I now found them … in my own hometown!”
The sky certainly delivered gems to so many people on that night, James.
I was still effervescent the next morning when I got up for an early call with Eric. He said something interesting ... even though it was my town there was still an element of the hunt ... that I had this on my radar and was constantly watching for signals that it might be near.
(And that I went out searching late into the night when I could have been in bed!)
Incredible photo. "When you stop trying so hard life finally gives you what you were looking for. Another life metaphor? If you are chasing some dream, I hope it comes true too!" I just wanted you to know that I'm letting this wish in. Thank you.

I wish I were with you, dear heart. And I wish it was not like this. But Mazel tov to you both.
Gosh, you are so lucky! Man, I'm going to return to the photo of the Northern Lights. Gosh, that's beautiful!

Good things come to those who wait. :)

I will be cheering for you from the sidelines, Rick!
After so many failed attempts I had truly given up hope of seeing the Northern Lights in my lifetime.
