There is nothing like having a full house after they've grown and gone. My mama heart is thrilled for you--and a wee bit jealous TBH! I've often told young parents "Don't blink!" Because one day they are newborns and the next they are grown adults. I'm bursting with pride over my four, but oh, how I miss them! Enjoy, my friend xo
So true, Cindy! I have started telling parents to save all their angst memories like pennies in a jar - each dirty diaper, each ride on the shoulders, each time they tug at you in the bathroom, the times they sneak back into your bed and knee you in the back. Then (as now) when they are all gone, I take a penny out at a time and relish the memory!
You are most welcome, Justin. I find that my readers often catch a depth beneath my words that I had not seen or intended, and being able to include their/your comments in these digests sometime inspires others to return to the essay with a second pair of eyes. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
