Spring Celebrations
E236: Field notes from the last week
Dateline: Goa, India, Delhi airport and beyond
Yes. I’m still in India thanks to all the cancelled flights. But now, I’m sitting in Delhi airport sending this out for my streak!
I feel bad to leave my sister and my home, but this sustains me:
I feel like I am making memories in each place I visit. Some have deeper roots than others. Some I will visit again in person. And others i will visit in my memory.
Some of you may recall
Spring “Holi”days
And it has to make you wonder … In an odd confluence, I got to experience so many holidays in a row. It is just the way the lunar calendar fell this year. Each of them is a riot of colour and laughter.
Carnival
Holi
Gudi Parva - Maharashtrian New Year / Spring festival
Eid
Spring Equinox
Just look at that joy! And you know what? The 67-year olds covered in colour were having as much fun as this little lad!
Chats
From last Saturday - a wonderful evening spent in the company of Ishita Singh and her husband Shobhit Singhal .
And I had a wonderful conversation with Michelle Varghese. We were both editors in the Writing of Passage (WoP) program. She did a Substack audit on my 236-edition, 4-year-long newsletter. And it is already paying off dividends!
Did you know I am a speaker?
Invite me to keynote at your next conference, speak at a round table discussion, or be interviewed on a podcast.
I have some free tickets to offer for the
Adult Gap Year Summit, Saturday March 28 12-3pm EST
If any of these topics are on your mind:
Career reset
Overcoming Burnout
Family Gap Year
Digital Nomad
[Financial and HR considerations] - pertains to all the above
I am joining twelve other speakers in exploring these topics. Click on this link to register and discover more about the other speakers and me.
Michelle asked me to offer the benefit of hindsight for the Family Gap Year concept. Having taken our children around the world twenty years ago, I’m offering an AMA session answering the most pressing question I had at that time “Are we doing the right thing? Will the kids be OK?"
Travel Alert and Meet Ups? Destinations: India … and …?
Watch this space!!! I have some interesting meetups lined up for next week’s edition!!
I am in a lounge in Delhi Airport, waiting for my onward flight. I am posting this which has been typed in various taxis and lounges as I journey purely for the streak. I‘m sure I’m going to have post-posting regrets for all the things I could have said, but didn’t!
