I love the concept of looking to nature to train ourselves, whether for trendspotting or for physical navigation. Everything we humans do has an analog in nature!

Nature is a great tutor, and a great way to practice these skills. Thanks Luke.

In integrating the last few months of tweets into my bookmark matrix, I found something I wrote that relates to your essay: shifting the common mindset that many people fall into when operating from the position of already following a trend that is suddenly gaining wider attention:

(For those who don't want to navigate to Twitter):

“Oh no, lots of people are discovering [MY PET INTEREST]! There’s a ton of inelegant newbies who are ruining my experience!”

“That means [MY PET INTEREST] is going to spawn some really new and unique subcultures, and great progress will emerge from the more esoteric fringes.”
